We love the comfort and security of the environment in the village where the worries of maintaining and the upkeep of a home is removed. The fact that the village also has a Care Home which gives priority access if needed to village residents.

Companionship and an easy way of life, no worries about maintenance etc. We have a great maintenance person now and he keeps everything under control and is very approachable. I can please myself if I join in or be a hermit for a while.

I like the smallness of The Orchards, I know at least 60% of the people here. My husband and I settled here in 2017 and sadly he passed away 2 years later. He wanted me to be somewhere safe and not alone - he was right. I have lost a lot of mobility this year, so I'm unable to participate in as much as before, but I can step out my door and meet others, play scrabble etc. and enjoy coffee together.

If there are any problems we can call for help and support. Nice to have neighbours close by to chat to or have coffee with. Lots of staff and residents who are happy to help when needed.
