I visit the doctor regularly. Can I get subsidised visits?

The High Use Health Card gives a general practice a higher government subsidy for patients with high health needs. To be eligible for this card, the patient needs to have visited their enrolled health service 12 or more times in one year. These visits must be related to an ongoing condition. This card is not means tested. The cost of some health fees or services may be reduced for some users such as those with a Community Services Card.

The healthcare service will apply for the card to the Ministry of Health on your behalf. The card lasts for one year, after which time a new application can be made (if appropriate).
