Basic information
If you reach a stage in life where you need extra day-to-day help, we’re here to help you.
Living at Fergusson Rest Home is a perfect option when you require a little more help on a daily basis. We’re proud to offer high-quality residential aged care.
Residents are part of our Fergusson Home family and we ensure that their individual values, needs and wishes are respected and they feel cared for. Our experienced, friendly staff provide our residents with 24/7 nursing care, tailored activity programmes and fresh, home-cooked meals.

Friendly Faces and a Family Atmosphere
Our experienced team is here to assist you with all your daily needs: including getting you ready for the day, cooking all your meals and helping you do the things you love. It means you and your family/whanau can be assured that you’ll be well supported every day.
Our bright, clean, and comfortable single or double rooms are all in the main building, which is set amongst well-maintained gardens for you to enjoy. Our small community allows our staff to develop a real personal connection with you and care for you like family.

Personalised Nursing Care
High-quality healthcare is really important as we get older, but there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to providing aged care. That’s why personalised nursing care is central to everything that we do here at our rest home.
On arrival at Fergusson Home, your health and needs are assessed and then any required care is planned. During this process, our experienced nurses and healthcare assistants get to know you personally: working with you and your family/whanau to develop a care plan that is unique to you. These plans include your likes and dislikes across a number of areas, your medical history and risk of falls, your family/whanau relationships, your culture, and your spiritual beliefs. These are regularly reassessed to ensure a consistently high level of care.

Keeping Active
Doing things that we enjoy every day is vital to our wellbeing. So we have designated activities staff to run an activities programme to help make each day more interesting.

Visitors
Visitors are always welcome to stop by or stay for a meal. We have no restriction on visiting hours, but our nurses are busy early in the mornings and in the evening. So we do ask family /whanau and friends to visit between 10am and 7pm.

Home-Cooked Meals
Our staff create nutritious meals and morning and afternoon tea in our own kitchens.
We ensure our meals balance taste and nutrition. And it’s no problem for us to cater for specific dietary needs.
