Milton Court Dementia Care, is specifically designed to meet the special needs of those with dementia Our dementia care is provided within our home, two dedicated wings called Turquoise and Amber wings.
Each wing being a smaller dementia unit (10 residents), gives us an opportunity to know our residents and the families. A smaller settings will provide a higher staff to resident ratios and staff can notice any change that needs attention and act on it right away. In our facility, the residents live together and form a household with staff. Normal, daily life and social participation are emphasised. Research has shown that people with dementia respond positively to surroundings that are relaxed, homely, easy to navigate and spacious. For this reason, our Turquoise and Amber wings are purposely designed to be in a small scale with home-like environment and normal domestic facilities. Because of our small intimate settings with a home-like atmosphere, it is easier to décor linked to memory of residents and easy access and opportunities to observe the daily life of the residents, as well as safe outside space. This encourages relaxed social interactions in small groups, and enables care staff to provide more individualized care.
We encourage residents to carry out small tasks throughout the day, such as helping to lay the table, cleaning, tidying, hanging out washing, folding clothing etc which can help retain self-esteem and involvement in daily life. Besides that, we have a dedicated activity co-ordinator who organises activities, such as arts and crafts, gardening, walking to the beach, exercise, sing along music, and one-to-one involvement. Our activities result in meaningful social interaction and engagement which enrich the resident’s physical and cognitive wellbeing through participation in all that they do.
At Milton Court, our goal and commitment is to help those in our care to live the best life possible, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Our vision is to provide a home where our residents live with dignity, where the environment enhances and maximises independence. This vision is underpinned by our values of compassion, integrity, dignity, honesty, respect, accountability and excellence in our field.
The quality of our care is very important to us. We want you to feel that Milton Court is your home. We encourage our residents to make this place their home. We will make sure your loved one chooses how they want to fill their days. Our caring team will make each day as enjoyable as it can be for each of our residents.
At Milton Court, Our Dementia Care unit provides a safe environment for our residents. We have a dedicated clinical manager who oversees the running of the unit alongside with a group of well trained team, equipped with the skills to ensure your loved one is treated with respect, compassion and kindness.

Testimonials
"Our Father who had dementia was cared for by the good staff at Milton Court for 2 years. In every respect he was given the very best care and attention. I was in a position to visit him frequently and got to know the staff and management well. I can't speak highly enough of how they looked after him, how they always went the extra mile and were professional in every respect. A wonderful Rest Home that I sincerely recommend for those looking for the best levels of care. " .....Kerry Pearson "My lovely mum has been at Milton Court for a few years now and over time we have gotten to know the staff pretty well. It's always hard for someone to have to leave their home and give up their independence but the staff at Milton Court helped mum to accept her new circumstances and talked her through the hard initial stage of acceptance. We are happy with mum being at Milton Court. She really likes the food, the staff are good to her and kind, and the other residents are her friends. The facility is small and homely with a lovely lawn/garden space which she utilises during summer. Initially she was encouraged to help in the garden and had other little jobs she could do as she always liked helping. She went out for walks with others and made the place her home. As she has become frailer the staff help her more but she retains a certain independence. Mum and our family are happy with Milton Court and the caring staff there."................ Carol Warner "I recently visited a family friend who has been at Milton Court for many years. The staff welcomed me even though it is 5 years since my father was there. They were wonderful with him even though he was rude and aggressive at times. He was in the dementia unit and they looked after him well in the challenging circumstances that happen with dementia. The lady I visited was told by the doctors they could do no more for her well before dad died, so It is due to the amazing care that she has had that she is still alive now."............... Susan Abercrombie "For our mum and the rest of the family, the move to Milton Court was the best move for mum at this time of her life."....Jim R "The care that my mum receives is first class. I cannot praise it enough. The staff are all great and its like one big happy family...I would have no hesitation in recommending Milton Court" "The care received from all staff is of a high standard and there are many activities available and our Mum is able to choose something to do most days of the week. The environment is lovely, very "home" based, and the cleanliness superb. I could not have asked for a better home for our mum- she is extremely well cared for and settled."..Anthea D "The family have always been made welcome at any time of the day and appreciate being able to visit mum whenever we are able. The staff are always approachable and willing to discuss any concerns we have."...Miriam M "The most outstanding feeling that I get from the staff is that they genuinely like my mother and seem unfuffled by some of her demands that could be difficult.... Keeping me informed about what is going on in her life is important and this keeps me up to date.... Without hesitation, I can fully commend the staff at Milton Court and I appreciate it immensely"..
