Welcome to Nazareth Care - a state-of-the art co-located retirement village and rest home, located on beautiful grounds on Brougham St, Sydenham. Our home emanates peace and calm, and we aim to enable residents to live a meaningful life with us at Nazareth Care Christchurch.

Our clinical, allied health and pastoral team develop an individual care plan for each resident, which includes clinical, social, emotional, activity and spiritual needs. Mass is available in the Chapel and regular services are conducted for other denominations. Participation in religious services is optional – we welcome everyone and do not impose any religious belief.

Our expansive grounds and array of common indoor areas provide many places for our residents to spend time with visiting loved ones or newly made friends. We have a dynamic and engaging lifestyle program, with an excellent choice of in-house activities, regular bus outings to local places of interest, themed days and guest entertainers.

Dining:
Each floor has its own dining room where residents are encouraged to enjoy the dining and food experience. Both dining rooms have a large verandah overlooking the beautiful gardens where residents can enjoy outdoor dining. You can choose to enjoy your meals, in the privacy of your own room. Resident requests are always welcome. Catering includes special dietary requirements.

The activities calendar is displayed in each residents room. The house have plenty of open spaces for group activities and socialisation. Activities are meaningful and also individualised to support each residents needs.
External entertainers are welcomed in our facility. We have our own big screen movie theatre.

What's included in your fees and what's not Services provided: - Lodging in a single room with private ensuite bathroom facilities including all furniture, fittings, fixtures, bedding, utensils except when Resident chooses to use their own where they can be reasonably accommodated. - Food service of adequate and nutritious meals. - Personal hygiene and grooming services as required. - Emergency access to a standard brand toothpaste, shampoo and soap (charged to the resident). - Cleaning services and supplies. Laundry services (clothing labels once-off charged at $101.20). - Activities (Diversional Therapy) programmes as per individual care plan. - TV, video and stereo system in lounge areas and tv in all bedrooms. - Twenty-four-hour personal care. Staffing qualifications and details All our staff are qualified to provide high-quality service to our residents. They are fully orientated to Nazareth's core values. Education and training are provided to further enhance and update their skills.
Details about meals Food service of adequate and nutritious meals including fresh fruit, refreshments and snacks at morning/afternoon tea and supper times are provided to our residents. Our catering and hospitality service is managed by a qualified chef. Skilled dining room attendants assist with serving and presenting meals. Our dining room has the ambience of a restaurant like service
Visitor information We welcome and encourage families, representatives and friends to visit their loved ones during normal hours. Visitors parking is located on the main carpark off Brougham Street. Visitors are requested to sign in/out on the iPad at Reception and adhere to the health and safety policy of the facility on Covid19, fire, earthquake or natural disaster.
Recreational opportunities Activities (Diversional Therapy) programmes are incorporated in Resident's Individualised Care Plan. Monthly activities schedule is displayed in all bedrooms.
Internet access Free guest wi-fi access is available at Reception for 24 hours. Resident's internet access configuration and set up of the first device is charged at $92 (once-off). Second device and subsequent devices is charged at $57.50
Transport Nazareth Care is accessible by car and public transport.
Associated Complexes Nazareth Care Retirement Living consists of more than 60 villas and is located within the same complex.
