Serving the needs of the surrounding communities of Otahuhu, Mangere, Onehunga and Papatoetoe.

CHT is proud to offer Hospital, Rest Home, Day Care and Respite Care at David Lange Care Home in Mangere East, Auckland. The fresh, new feel of the home compliments our gardens perfectly. The gardens give wonderful views from the inside, as well as providing sunny, peaceful places to sit outside.

We welcome friends and family at any time. The great reputation of the food our chef prepares means that friends and family often join their special people here for a meal (for a small charge). Our residents also enjoy getting out and about in the van. There’s always something happening at David Lange, and our residents can choose whether they get involved in the range of activities on offer.

Our nursing and care staff give care in a way that is friendly and respects the wishes of each resident. This reflects a combination of our training, and the effort we make to really get to know each resident, through something we call the Map of Life. Through this, we understand what has been important in each person’s life, as well as their particular likes, dislikes, and preferences. Once we have this understanding, we can give the care that each person needs in a way that is right for them.

Our Care Home has been designed to give choices. Each floor looks different with its own soft furnishings in warm, rich colours. Our bedrooms are a generous size and almost all have ensuite toilets (shared between two rooms but designed for individual privacy). Our lounge and dining areas are comfortable with recliner chairs and large screen TV's.

We would be delighted to have the opportunity to talk with you about our care. Please phone our Care Home Manager, Yvonne Kleyn, or feel free to drop in at any time.
