Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
Located in Cambridge, 30 minutes from Hamilton, Te Awa Lifecare provides a range of independent living, assisted and care options. For those seeking modern facilities and a friendly community for their retirement, this luxurious Lifecare village is set in a tranquil location, with gorgeous rural landscaping. The extensive lawn and garden areas have all been designed to celebrate the heritage and history of the site.

From two and three bedrooms villas, to smaller independent living cottages, Te Awa Lifecare also offers 32 rest home and hospital level care suites, as well as a recently opened dementia homestead comprising 12 individual care suites. Construction of the stage two villas are now underway, all of which are well-appointed throughout, with designer kitchens, HRV heat pumps and a call bell connected to 24 hour support.

Residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to facilities and activities at Te Awa Lifecare. On-site recreation amenities include indoor bowls, a gym, snooker room, library, cinema, café, arts and crafts room, hair salon and a large lounge/dining hall for community-centred events. Management also regularly invites input from residents about the running of the village, enjoying the opportunity to gather ideas and opinions and respecting that it is their home after all.

The owners of Te Awa Lifecare had a vision when designing the village on their beautiful rural site, and ultimately it was about providing for those who were looking for the highest standard of care and comfort when it came to their retirement. All of the buildings have been purpose built and the communal buildings have a charming barn character to them, to fit the farm-like setting of wetlands, mature trees and a home paddock with animals for every to enjoy.

Updated: 17 Aug 2018

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
