Having been established in Ngatea over the last 30 years, the Ngatea Masonic Village continues to hold true to its fundamental goal of providing affordable housing for seniors and elderly. Over this time the Village has grown to 40 units/villas intermingled over 4 streets in Ngatea. Due to the demand and fantastic lifestyle Ngatea offers, construction of a new village of 57 villas on the south side of Ngatea is underway, with Villas available now!

The villages offer complete independent living in your own freestanding home, yet offer the security of knowing that lawn mowing, rates, water rates, dwelling insurance and most of the maintenance, is covered in the monthly service fee. The units/villas are purchased under an Occupation Right Agreement. Each unit/villa is finished to a very high standard and designed with many features to assist you in your retirement while keeping you fully independent, making this a seamless transition from the traditional family home.

With various styles and sizes of units/villas spread across Ngatea, there are options which will suit various budgets.

Come and live a more quiet and relaxed way of life in the rural town of Ngatea. Centrally located 1 hour (approximately) away from Auckland, Hamilton, and the Coromandel, Ngatea is not far away if you want to escape the hustle and bustle for a weekend away or day trip out. Ngatea is a close nit, safe community that has so much to offer.

Enjoy our fantastic facilities including a heated swimming pool, Halls, Churches, Parks, a Sports Field and various Organisations including Probus, Lions Club, Care and Friendship, Hauraki RSA & Memorial Club and Sports Clubs that you can get involved in.

Nearby you will also find bike trails, beaches, boat ramps, local reserves and hiking tracks waiting to be explored. In a population of an estimated 1,580 people, you will enjoy a real community feel with a relaxed way of life.

Enjoy your later years joining in on community organisations or just taking it easy. With easy access to amenities around town, Ngatea is great for mobility scooters, running, walking or just getting in the car to go to the grocery store. Local amenities include grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, pub, Healthcare Practice, Pharmacy, Veterinary Services, Library, Hardware shop, Gift Stores and much more.

“We are loving it here and count our blessings every day!

Moving into our home in the Masonic Village has been the best decision for us. We love the modern layout and neutral colour palette and, what is easily the best part for us, the worry-free maintenance. Lots of room to spread out and relax. We now have plenty of free time to enjoy our hobbies without any worries or hidden costs, and the bonus of course is no lawns to mow.”

“Moving into the Masonic Village has given me freedom from worrying about rates and house insurance. Also the fact that the unit is on the flat is so much safer than the steps at my old house. I love the fact that my neighbours are so friendly and always ready to help and answer my questions. I don't regret the move.

S Hewitt”

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
