Activities Calendar for Feb 2025 |
Our aged care facility, Kauri Lodge is a small 25-bed residential facility providing residential and hospital level care on a short stay (respite), rehabilitation or permanent basis.
Established 1986, in the heart of Kaeo, Kauri Lodge is founded on a deep respect for our residents and we pride ourselves on a warm, family atmosphere.
We take the time to get to know your loved one properly; their interests, memories and unique experiences - insights that help us create a lifestyle plan and personalised care to enable a fulfilling life with as much independence as possible.
With the comfort and security of 24/7 clinical care with registered nurses, health care assistants and an onsite Medical Centre, your loved one is in safe, caring hands.
The activities calendar is filled with regular outings, visiting entertainment and a wide variety of social activities and crafts. Regulars, 'The Grey Warblers' entertain with nostalgic sing-a-long’s every Friday.
Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinator is trained in ‘The Spark of Life’ a model of life-enhancing dementia care that supports Hauora.
Surrounded by mountains and native bush, Kauri Lodge enjoys large park-like grounds that are a pleasure to walk around.
We are lucky to have a well-tended, abundant vegetable garden and orchard that produce all year round. The fresh produce goes directly to the kitchen to nourish our residents, and excess is made into jam and preserves - resident green thumbs are more than welcome to help or have their own plot to tend.
Meals are prepared fresh on-site by our chefs using seasonal, home-grown ingredients. Prepared in conjunction with a dietitian, our tasty and nourishing menu aims to tempt all taste buds. They’re also known to whip up a scrummy birthday cake for our residents’ special occasions.
Spacious rooms, most with a balcony overlooking the cottage garden and rural vista. Residents are encouraged to decorate their space with familiar items to create a comfy home away from home.
We invite you to get in touch with us and find out more about Kauri Lodge.
