Other services
Waihi Lifecare offers exemplary Rest Home level care in a hospitable and affectionate setting. Our recently renovated rooms feature a peaceful and comfortable interior, while the facility's location in an attractive garden setting enhances its overall appeal.
Our primary focus at Waihi Lifecare is on the holistic wellbeing of residents, with a commitment to meeting their psychological and physical needs at all times. Our team of highly qualified Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants provides a professional and nurturing service 24 hours a day, attending to all aspects of personal care, including medication and pain management, as well as emotional support.
In addition, our two qualified Diversional Therapists design recreation and leisure-based activity programmes to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of residents and patients.
We provide several services to our clients, including long-term care for individuals who are physically disabled and under 65 years of age, or those with chronic long-term illnesses that require assistance with self-care, communication, or general mobility. Our experienced care staff work closely with residents to maintain their independence and control.
We offer a GP Inpatient Service, where our highly professional Waihi General Practitioners admit patients who are unwell or require care that their family or whanau members cannot provide. The service also includes "emergency or unplanned respite," where an immediate response is necessary to prevent admission to a public hospital.
We provide End of life - Palliative Care, a compassionate and supportive environment that provides comfort, privacy, and dignity for residents and their families.
Our Transition to Home Post-Acute Convalescent Care service is available for patients who are unable to return home or stay home safely in the interim due to an acute illness/episode that they are expected to recover from within 10-14 days, a period of non-weight-bearing that lasts up to 42 days post-fracture, or a need for home modification/equipment/decisions leading to a delayed discharge home, and the patient has otherwise completed their acute episode of care.
Finally, we offer Respite Care, a short-term stay service available to those who are recovering from an illness or hospital stay or require extra support. This service provides a change of scenery while ensuring that patients receive excellent care, and their usual carer can take a break.
