The residents in our memory loss unit have access to an outdoor area that has been landscaped to cater for the unique needs of residents living with dementia or memory loss.
Where appropriate to do so, our residents will be supported to assist with simple food preparation and baking in our neighbourhood kitchen. They also have access to the domestic style laundry within Ranui.
Our Executive Chef ensures residents requiring special diets enjoy restaurant quality cuisine. We use innovative food moulds to present nutritious meals, which look amazing, and taste and smell delicious. The residents also have access to tasty, nutritious snacks at any time.

Special Features
There are a number of unique qualities that showcase our commitment to providing a very special place for our residents to call home, which include the following: Thanks to the Be: Art Trust who have supplied original pieces of art, from local New Zealand talents Paul Dibble and Karl Maughan. Our art acts as a way-finder for people around the building This artistic aesthetic flows through to the atrium, which is lined with pillars inspired by New Zealand's iconic Nikau palm trees. Beneath the canopy of the pillars, nestled in the heart of the atrium is a beautiful garden, complete with flowering plants and moss walls that brighten and breathe new life into the vibrant and open space. Rawhiti Estate is the first retirement village in Auckland to use the Vocera communication system. The hands-free, wearable badge-like device allows our teams to communicate directly with the residents and with one another far more efficiently and sharpen their focus on what matters most, our residents. Each suite is equipped a personal tablet, which the residents can use to connect to the web, various apps, and communicate with and their families via a phone app. Our care suites are generous in size, beautifully appointed and "feel just like home". Most of our care suites come with a kitchenette and a fridge. The furniture supplied has been chosen with the older adult in mind and to promote our residents to be independent. The ensuite's are equipped with under floor heating. |
