Ultimate Care Kensington Court has been well establised in the Nelson community for over 20 years.

We provide residential care for those who require a high level of medical care and support. By working in partnership with residents and their family we provide personal tailormade care plans.

Our long serving staff are committed to providing our residents with the best possible healthcare services combined with the highest standards of nursing care.

For those that wish to join in we have a daily activities programme that offers a varierty of activities from arts and crafts to dancing and excercise, games and outings.

Physiotherapist Yes We can provide Physiotherapy services to our residents as needed. We work in with local physiotherapists and those from Nelson Marlborough District Health Board.

Diversional Therapist Yes We are delighted that we have a full-time Diversional Therapist who oversees our activities programme ensuring our residents choices of activities are met
Activities Co-ordinator Yes Our activities team have an excellent activities programme that caters for all our residents needs available from Mon - Fri.
Hairdresser Yes At Kensington, we are fortunate to have our own hair salon on-site, so you can have a bit of a do without leaving the home.
Podiatrist Yes Our Podiatrist visits the first Tuesday of every month.
Dietitian Yes All of our menus have been approved by a dietitian. We can make a referral to dietitian services if this is required for individual consultation.
Kaumatua Negotiable We can source availability of appropriate local Kaumatua or Iwi provider services which can be arranged on an individual basis as required.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes We can access a Chaplin through the various church groups which visit. This can be arranged on an individual basis as required.

End of Life/Palliative Care Yes Generally speaking, people who are dying need care in four areas, physical comfort, mental and emotional needs, spiritual issues, and practical tasks. Their families need support as well. It is our goal to provide all of this at the end stage of life.
Wound Care Yes We have highly trained clinical nurses lead by our clinical coach who can provide the best care for any wounds requiring treatment.
Diabetic Care Yes All of our registered nurses are skilled to assist with the management of diabetes. We are able to support you with your diabetic needs.
Continence Advice Yes Our registered nurses have been trained to assess for continence requirements and work closely with our suppliers to ensure any continence products you require are of the highest quality.
Stomal Therapy Yes We do not have a stomal therapist on staff, but if required we would refer to the DHB stomal services for advice.
Stroke Rehabilitation Yes Access can be made through the Stroke Foundation. Can also consult with speech language therapy, Physiotherapy etc through the local DHB
Infection Control Yes We have an infection control programme for our organisation that has been endorsed by the Medical Officer of Health for Canterbury.
Surgical Followup Yes If your coming to stay with us post-surgery we can following an assessment of your needs provide the recovery needs you to require.
Psychiatric Care Yes Access can be made through the DHB upon request.
Clinical Management Yes We have a full-time Clinical Services Manager who provides support to our Nurses and Caregivers and all care of our Residents.

Cater for under 65 yrs with Disability Yes As an organisation our core business is Aged Care. We do however acknowledge that some of our referrals could be for people under the age of 65yrs. We will always consider this person on a case by case to ensure we can meet their needs.
Lounges/seating areas Yes We have a variety of locations for residents and their families to meet in, including sheltered courtyard areas, and large lounges in the resthome, hospital and village areas.
