Heretaunga is a small, boutique Care Centre offering a range of standard and premium rooms, including Care Suites.

Our central Silverstream location makes it easy for friends and family to visit or take you out and about. We are close to the Silverstream Shopping Centre, Trentham Racecourse, Silverstream Golf Park, Stokes Valley Cosmopolitan Club and RSA, Trentham Memorial Park and local churches and cafes.

At Heretaunga, there is a strong, close-knit community where new residents quickly become part of the family. We’re proud to offer a homely environment that is cosy and comfortable, and take pride in ensuring Heretaunga is an inviting place for both residents and their families. Heretaunga also runs a day stay programme, for those looking for a little bit of extra help.

Your room is your own private space, so you can decorate it with your favourite pictures and ornaments. Standard rooms are large enough for a single bed, a chair and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The cost of a standard room is included in the Care Services Fee set by the DHB. Premium rooms have additional features such as more space, an ensuite bathroom or outdoor access, but you’ll need to pay an extra amount per day to cover the cost of these premium features.

Care Suites provide both Rest Home and Hospital level care, which means you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase. All Care Suites have a heat pump and full ensuite, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A DHB assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

Hop in our van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you next. A scenic drive through the countryside, shopping trips or picnics in the park, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re into, enjoy some me-time listening to your own personalised playlist with our award-winning I Love Music programme.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings…there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to want second helpings!

Oceania is a leading provider of premium healthcare services in New Zealand. With over 40 locations across the country, we’ve been part of local communities for over 50 years. We’re recognised as industry leaders in care, winning awards for innovation, food, staff training and community engagement.

When it comes to your care, you know what you do and don’t like – and we want to know your preferences too. Because everyone is different, all our residents receive a personalised care plan, so from meals to medications; everything that’s important to you is covered.
