Special Features
St Christopher's Hospital and Rest Home is a modern care facility operated by CHT. We offer 36 single hospital and 10 rest home beds. Residents in this wing enjoy their own dining area and lounges for reading, socialising or for pursuing a favourite hobby. We encourage all residents to bring personal items and furniture to make their space feel more like home. We have peaceful, well-kept gardens and grounds and residents benefit from this beautiful setting. We hold concerts and enjoy and arrange social and recreational activities including regular outings in the CHT bus. We also have an onsite hairsalon. Delicious and nutritious meals are freshly prepared onsite each day. Special dietary needs are taken care of. Residents may choose their own doctors and we have a full compliment of skilled medical staff on-hand to provide the best care possible and a high standard of service at all times. We look forward to caring for your needs and providing you with the best. Your satisfaction is important to us and we work hard to maintain a high standard of service at all times. We welcome any ideas that will help us improve this service. Interests & Activities
As part of our activity programme we have Art, Bingo, Cards,Bowls, Classical Music, Cooking, Craft, Dancing, Entertainment, Exercises, Flower arranging, Happy Hour, Games, Movies, Music, Newspaper reading, Organ, Outings, and Sing-a-longs. We also have advocates who visit to assist residents with any issues they may have and have regular contact with Age Concern, Blind Foundation, Maori Women's Welfare, and the Parkinson's Society. Residents are able to enjoy breakfast in bed if they wish and we have email facilities available which we will assist resident's to use to keep contact with friends and family. Also on site we have a BBQ for the warmer weather, big print books, picnic facilities and Sky TV. We also have regular visits from church and childrens groups and enjoy making a special effort for holiday celebrations such as Christmas and Easter. A minibus is available for weekly outings. Shopping trips are also enjoyed by the residents. We also have lovely gardens which residents are welcome to help with at anytime. |
