Activities Co-ordinator Yes Our program, provided by Jackie, is designed to meet a wide range of individual interests and preferences. Day to day activities may include current events, exercises, brain gym activities, art n craft, library, entertainment/music/DVDs and walks or outings into the community by way of our designated 'people mover'.
Hairdresser Yes Maxine visits weekly and/or by arrangement.
Podiatrist Yes Corrie visits monthly to provide podiatry care to our residents according to their individual need.
Dietitian Yes The team at Canterbury Dietitians provide support with menu planning, oversee special diets, and provide staff education. Our menu rotates over a 4 week cycle with Summer and Winter options.
Kaumatua Negotiable We respect the cultural values and beliefs of all residents at Bloomfield Court. Specific arrangements are made according to individual needs and preferences.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes Church services are facilitated on a twice monthly basis that include Anglican, Methodist, Presbytarian, and the Grapevine Plains fellowship. Other visitors can be accommodated by arrangement.

Infection Control Yes We are trained in Infection Prevention and Control measures, and able to link into support from the CDHB IPC Clinical Nurse Specialist and Southern Community Laboratory teams as indicated.
Surgical Followup Yes Bloomfield Court actively supports CDHB outpatient and 'private' surgical followup, and encourage family assistance to facilitate attendance of such appointments.
Psychiatric Care Yes Bloomfield Court is certified to provide general rest home care. Staff are trained and experienced in supporting residents with mental health issues that can be managed safely and effectively (with consideration to the wellbeing of other residents) with support from CDHB Older Persons' Mental Health Services and community providers as indicated.
Community Health Yes We are aware of and supportive to health promotion at a community level with respect to initiatives that include 'Stop Smoking' stategies, annual 'Flu' Vaccination, and zero tolerance of Family Violence and Elder Abuse and Neglect.

Bloomfield Court Retirement Home has been privately owned and operated by Hardeep and Sonia Singh (Facility Manager) since 2015.

As an Age Residential Care provider we are contracted to the CDHB and the MOH to provide care in accordance with recognised industry standards and legislation that are verified by internal and external auditing processes. A robust suite of Policies and Procedures guides us in upholding these requirements, along with our committment to other documents that include our staff Code of Conduct and the Health and Disability Commission Code of Rights.

We make every effort to develop and maintain strong relationships with family's of those in our care, as well as to the wider team of health professionals that support us in our work.

Over time there have been many changes to the way our elderly population is supported. Bloomfield Court upholds and ongoing committment to do our very best in careing for our people.

Our activities program is designed to meet the wide variation in resident preferences to cater for everyone as individuals. We include shared activities undertaken in small clusters and larger groups, as well as one-on-one time for those less socially inclined. Our calendar is seasonal, flexible, and we explore new activities as suggestions come to light.

What's included in your fees and what's not Fees include a range of standard cares and services. On admission all residents are individually assessed in conjuction with family/advocate, to determine a care plan that directs care interventions. This is reviewed and adjusted over time to ensure changes in need are accommodated. Fees include meals and refreshments, hygiene and grooming assistance, toileting and continence management, mobility assistance and support, approved medications, skin and wound care management, and laundry services. Services not included relate to discretionary items such as specialist services not covered by public health funding, and personal items such as clothing, toiletries, hairstyling, manicure and podiatry.
