Interests & Activities
Activity Programme: Assisi has a team of Diversional Therapists who strive to provide quality, meaningful activities for residents in the Rest Home and Hospital. Our activity programme is planned and displayed for residents, staff, friends and family members to view. We welcome family participation in any activity. Activities include group games, 1-on-1 activities, entertainment, outings, cooking and crafts. The team utilise volunteers to further diversify the activities they can offer the residents.
Chapel: We have a large Chapel on site. We have a Catholic Mass 3 times per week, and a multi-denominational service each Wednesday. Communion services are held on Tuesday & Friday.
Entertainment: Assisi has various groups entertaining on a regular basis, providing a range of entertainment, including music.

Staffing qualifications and details The Resthome has nursing cover for morning and evening shifts with night shift covered by our hospital nurses. The Hospital has 24 hour / 7 day a week nursing cover who are available to assist Resthome staff in emergencies. Caregiver ratio's are based on care levels.

Mall 6.00 Km The City Centre is 15 minutes (16km) away. Westfield Shopping Centre (Chartwell) is approximately 20 minutes away.
Parks 4.00 Km Hamilton City Gardens offer beautiful walkways, a cafe and is wheelchair accessible. Other accessable cafes are nearby.
Library 2.00 Km Atawhai Assisi has a voluntary Librarian who visits our residents, gets to know their tastes in literature, & sources books from the Hillcrest Branch of the Hamilton Public Library. Assisi also has a number of large print books in our in-house library.
