Whitianga Continuing Care is known for its beautiful, waterfront location and warm community atmosphere. It’s a place where residents and their families can feel at home and rely on staff for a kind and thoughtful approach. We have a variety of rooms, no matter your needs or budget, there are plenty of options for your care.
We don’t have visiting hours because we know it’s important you stay connected to your community. This is your home, so friends and family can join you anytime for a cuppa and a catch up.
Whether you enjoy socialising or quiet time, how you spend your day is up to you. Find a friend and join in the day’s activities or relax in one of our many cosy nooks. Our fantastic activities programme has something for everyone, with exercise initiatives helping residents to improve their strength and mobility and regular visits from schools and local groups to ensure residents remain connected to their community.
With the beach on your doorstep, simply cross the road for a walk along the shore. The town centre is close by, so it couldn’t be easier to catch up with friends and family for coffee or browse the local shops. Living in the heart of the Coromandel certainly has its benefits, our van trips are like no other! Enjoy fish and chips on Hot Water Beach, take a walk around the Whitianga Waterways or dip your feet in the sea at Hahei – there’s an exciting new destination every week to explore.
Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings… there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to want second helpings.
Oceania is a leading provider of premium healthcare services in New Zealand. With over 40 locations across the country, we’ve been part of local communities for over 50 years. We’re recognised as industry leaders in care, winning awards for innovation, food, staff training and community engagement.
When it comes to your care, you know what you do and don’t like – and we want to know your preferences too. Because everyone is different, all our residents receive a personalised care plan, so everything that’s important to you - from meals to medications - is covered.

Testimonials
"To all the kind staff at Continuing Care for looking after me when I visited. I'll never forget the experience, it was good for my inner being, as I feel a lot better than when I arrived. Thank you for all the good deeds performed, following in the footsteps of Florence Nightingale. God Bless you all!" "Thank you is only two words and they say a lot, but thank you is not enough to say, for the 12 amazing years you all have given loving care to Mum. Thank you for being there through the tough times and happy, you all were there for me and without you all I may have given up, but then Mum never gave up. Thank you for all your understanding and wisdom." "Could not wish to be anywhere but here" "I think I'm very well cared for and looked after" "I feel so fortunate to be here - staff are great and there's always a happy atmosphere" |
