We know that those who choose to live at home in the wider community and who are receiving support services often get considerable help from family members and spouses. We know too in these situations that it’s beneficial for all parties to get regular breaks and recharge their batteries.

Our Respite Short Stay service gives many people in our community these all important breaks.

When you stay with us will have the opportunity to met and mix with new people if you choose to do so, our trained as skilled staff will support you to be as independent as possible, you’ll enjoy appetising meals, and you will be free to join our daily programmes.

We are confident you will go home refreshed and be looking forward to your next stay with us.

Meeting the needs of older people
When we meet you we will address you personally. If you have a support person with you we will of course welcome them, however we’d like our main discussion to be with you as much as possible.

If you need a special type of assistance please tell us how we can best help. We won't take over, however please be confident that our staff are well trained and know how to provide appropriate assistance when and if needed.

What's included in your fees and what's not You will see that some services require a private payment - top up. The Manager will give you a print out or digital copy of all costs you will incur during your stay with us.
Staffing qualifications and details Our staff working this area of our service are trained in the ‘restorative model’. This means they will work with you to maximise your abilities and perhaps help you discover new ways of doing things that you are having difficulty with.
Details about meals Our meals are planned with our dietician to ensure they are of high nutritional content and very, very tasty. All dietary requirements are catered for.

May Bring Own Furniture Yes You won’t need to bring your own as your room will be furnished to a good standard. We do suggest however bringing some of your favourite bedding (e.g. pillow or comforter) especially if it helps you sleep well.
Single Rooms Yes All rooms are single.
Ensuite Yes You will have your own ensuite. It make take you a little while to orientate to a new setup so we can support you until you become familiar with it. If you need full assistance we can and will provide this too.
Phone Access In Own Room Yes We encourage you to keep in touch with family, friends and neighbours. You’re welcome of course to use your own cell phone if you have one.

Respite Yes An assessment showing eligibility is required for those accessing the subsidised respite service. An allocation of days may also be given.
Carer Support Yes An assessment showing eligibility for this service is needed. Additional private payment (a top up) is required to meet the full cost of the service.
Subsidised Yes Please note an assessment showing eligibility is needed for the subsidised service.
Private Paying Yes Please discuss with the manager.
Booking can be made in advance Yes Please note however that we have a limited number of rooms for booked respite so to secure your stay please make sure you give us plenty of notice.
