Bethany Hill Dementia Care sounds like a wonderful and nurturing environment for individuals with dementia. The picturesque setting with views of Whangateau Harbour and Omaha Bay, along with the tranquil rural surroundings, surely contributes to a sense of calm and serenity for both residents and visitors.
The emphasis on providing a secure yet open environment where residents can freely move indoors and outdoors is commendable. It allows residents to maintain a sense of independence and connection with nature, which can be therapeutic for individuals with dementia. The presence of landscaped gardens, native bush, and sensory gardens further enriches the sensory experience for residents, offering opportunities for relaxation and stimulation.
The inclusion of features such as bird-watching areas, guinea fowl play areas, vegetable gardens and a chicken coop adds an element of nature and activity that can engage residents and provide moments of joy and connection. It's evident that the design and layout of Bethany Hill are thoughtfully tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals with dementia, promoting their well-being and quality of life.
Bethany Hill places a strong emphasis on the quality of care provided to residents, which is highly commendable. The commitment to maintaining a high standard of care is reflected in the extensive training and support provided to staff members. The combination of on-site training, external courses, and collaboration with organizations such as the Waitemata District Health Board demonstrates a comprehensive approach to staff development and continuing education. This ensures that staff members are equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques, particularly in areas such as dementia care and behavior assessment.
The emphasis on individualized care is particularly noteworthy. By taking the time to get to know each resident personally and tailoring care plans to meet their specific needs, Bethany Hill creates a supportive and nurturing environment akin to a home. Meaningful activities that bring joy and fulfillment to residents further enhance their quality of life and sense of well-being.
Please do not hesitate to discuss with us your needs.

Testimonials
"David, my husband, had a bad accident at home, just over a year ago, and in hospital, the needs assessors said that he was unable to come home again to me, which was very hard, very difficult. Fortunately, we found Bethany Hill. I made an appointment to come and see Judy, the nurse, and was absolutely thrilled with it, outside, inside. David is a person that loves to be outside with his hands in the dirt, digging drains or digging whatever, doesn't matter what he digs, but he's quite happy doing that and Bethany provided that, whereas the other dementia unit didn't. So, it was made just for him. Staff are absolutely wonderful, they've had to put up with an awful lot with David. He's probably been very very difficult to put it mildly, and they've just been absolutely wonderful with him. I just can't speak highly enough of the whole staff, there's not one person that works here that hasn't been absolutely amazing for him. I don't want them to have to leave here, I wouldn't want anybody to have to leave here. You can join in with their games, they do all sorts of things, they play bingo, they have karaoke which is interesting to say the least, but no respite is wonderful. I would recommend for anybody to come here have a look, meet the staff. It is very very family orientated, which is what the residents need, the residents enjoy. Their food is lovely, really really good food, morning and afternoon tea, I wish I was here. I really recommend for you to come and have a look come and have a look at the gardens that they can wander in have a look inside and yes, meet the staff you won't want to go anywhere else I promise you." .................Wife of David, Colleen |
