A lot can be said through our hands — a welcome, a goodbye, a friendly embrace, a playful gesture, a sign of affection, or just the delivery of a cup of tea. At Radius Taupaki Gables, we offer more than just an extra set of hands; we strive to improve your life at the stage you're at.
Located in the beautiful country setting of rural Taupaki, a 20-30 minute drive west of Auckland, Radius Taupaki Gables provides rest home and private hospital with palliative and respite care in an environment that supports autonomy. Life at Taupaki Gables is about events and activities, community involvement, connection and, of course, great support.
The building features a central courtyard with a centrepiece gazebo, a BBQ area for friends and family to gather, and raised gardens and covered balconies with an outdoor pool table area.
The team at Radius Taupaki Gables foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like a second family.
STAYING CONNECTED
Taupaki Gables offers a personal free Wi-Fi connection for residents to stay connected with loved ones, access news, shop online, and stream movies or TV shows.
They also provide a free elder-friendly phone with oversized buttons and covers all mobile and toll calls. Residents can bring their existing phone numbers with them when they move in.
OUR FOOD
The kitchen prepares fresh, nutritious meals that are tasty and inviting.
There are three main meals, with two options provided at dinner. There are also snacks throughout the day and a cup of tea ready to be poured often. The menu is on a four-week cycle and is designed with residents in mind and approved by a dietician. Fish and chips on Fridays and roast lamb, pork, and beef are the most popular dishes. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
ACTIVITIES
Taupaki Gables offers an extensive activity programme that promotes self-esteem and personal fulfilment. This includes outings to Gibbs farm and local cafes, helping our West Auckland community, and our recent sustainability endeavours.
We aim to stimulate cognitive functioning, nurture their residents, and provide purposeful activities that result in full and enriched lives full of fun, laughter, and smiles.
WILL YOU VISIT?
We believe that it is important to come on-site and experience the lifestyle at Taupaki Gables for yourself. We can also help answer any questions about the aged care process, including funding and how to get assessed.
Call or email us to book a tour with Laurel, the Facility Manager, or pop in. We'd love to meet you.

Testimonials
In early December last, my late father was transferred to Taupaki Gables from the North Shore Hospital's intensive care ward. He had various health issues and required palliative care. Dad passed away on Christmas Day. My mother was extremely impressed with the overall care given to him despite the short duration of his stay. The staff quickly gained his confidence and started getting him interested in meeting other residents and going on outings. Then, when his health deteriorated again, all of the staff went out of their way to make my mother and other members of our family welcome and comfortable during the hours that we spent at his bedside before he passed away. In particular, she cannot speak too highly of the kindness and compassion extended to all of us during my father's final hours. It was very clear to us that all of the staff really care about the residents and were almost as sad as we were at his passing. One of the reasons that my father wanted to be placed at Taupaki Gables was as a result of hearing very good reports about the Home. This was reinforced when, on our first visit, my mother in particular, was very impressed with the homely atmosphere and the obvious interest the staff have in their residents. She will have no hesitation in recommending Taupaki Gables to anyone in need of residential care. |
