We also work very closely with Te Whatu Ora Waikato Nurse Practitioners for the provision of clinical expertise, guidance and support for clinical decision-making. | |

Personal small community environment where we value the contributions of older people. BACKGROUND: The North Waikato Care of the Aged Trust Board, Inc. is a charitable Community Trust established in 1972 as a joint venture between the Huntly Lions, Rotary and Jaycees Clubs, dedicated to serving the elderly community of Huntly and the surrounding areas. Since Jaycees have been disbanded, the Trust nowadays has representation from the Hunty Community Board. Kimihia Resthome was opened in March 1979 by the Hon. Sir Douglas Carter - High Commissioner to London. The first cottage was built in 1988, and for five years thereafter, one new cottage was built annually. Fourteen years after the Resthome was opened , Kimihia Hospital was opened in March 1993 by Dame Thea Muldoon QSO. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: MEALS ON WHEELS. Interests & Activities
We aim to provide individualised activity programs for all residents of our facility. Karon, Anne & Dorothy work extremely hard to ensure that no two days are ever the same! Some examples of the activities that we can provide include: cooking, massage, walking groups, exercise, RSA trips, housie and bingo, bowls, monthly birthday party, Alzheimers group, arts & crafts, Men's workshop, church services, entertainers, yoga class, flower shows, happy hour, guest speakers, newspaper reading, quizzes...and the list goes on. Our team can give anything a go! |
