Nestled in the heart of sunny Hawkes Bay, Gracelands offers options for both retirement village living and aged care, with two-bedroom independent living villas and a choice of standard and premium care rooms, including Care Suites.
Gracelands is ideally located off a main road and has easy access to public transport, which makes getting to Hastings or Napier a breeze. There are plenty of shops close by including a pharmacy, a Four Square, fruit and veggie shops, and lovely cafes and eateries that are perfect for a catch-up with friends and family.
Gracelands is known for its vibrant community and friendly staff who always go the extra mile to deliver care with warmth and kindness. It is a place where both residents and their families can truly feel at home.
Your room is your own private space, so you can decorate it with your favourite pictures and ornaments. Standard rooms are large enough for a single bed, a chair and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The cost of a standard room is included in the Care Services Fee set by the DHB. Premium rooms have additional features such as more space, an ensuite bathroom or outdoor access, but you’ll need to pay an extra amount per day to cover the cost of these premium features.
Care Suites provide both Rest Home and Hospital level care, which means you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase. All Care Suites have a heat pump and full en-suite, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A DHB assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.
Hop in our van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you next. A scenic drive through the countryside, shopping trips or picnics in the park, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re into, enjoy some me-time listening to your own personalised playlist with our award-winning I Love Music programme.
Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings…there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to want second helpings!
Oceania is a leading provider of premium healthcare services in New Zealand. With over 40 locations across the country, we’ve been part of local communities for over 50 years. We’re recognised as industry leaders in care, winning awards for innovation, food, staff training and community engagement.
When it comes to your care, you know what you do and don’t like – and we want to know your preferences too. Because everyone is different, all of our residents get a personalised care plan, so from meals to medications; everything that’s important to you is covered.

Testimonials
"It's a happy place, very positive" My grandmother has made a lot of progress since she's been there. She's making lots of friends and there's always heaps to do. The staff that look after her are really, really good. They get her up and put on her makeup and jewellery to make her feel happy and positive. They make her laugh which is nice to see as well. It's a happy place, very positive. Sarah, Granddaughter of Dawn Clapperton. Breast Cancer Breakfast. Joyce Shuker and I thoroughly enjoyed this special breakfast together in our pink outfits. A special thanks to Viv (Diversional Therapist) for her exceptional organisational skills which made it so enjoyable. Thanks for the hard work you put into this Viv and to your many helpers. Thank you to the kitchen staff for the delicious selection of well presented food, really nutritious, so much appreciated by both of us. Jo Smith daughter of Joyce Shuker (Rest home resident) Caring staff My wife Cecily was a patient in Gracelands from August 2014 to July 2015 when she passed away. She had the most professional help from the management, nursing staff and caregivers. Cecily was treated with the utmost kindness at all times and the devotion of the staff was of the highest standard. My family are so grateful knowing that Cecily's needs were catered for in such a friendly environment, making her last year so very happy for her. Many thanks to management and staff for the professional way Cecily was cared for, she was very happy and grateful for all the help and assistance with her daily life. It was a great burden taken off our shoulders to know that Cecily had the greatest care 24/7. Would you please convey my grateful thanks to all who assisted Cecily in any way. My daughter Stephanie joins me in expressions of gratitude for your dedication to a lovely lady. Sincerely yours Peter Price (husband of Cecily) To Phil, Jean, Tracey and the care staff of Gracelands We are so very appreciative of the excellent care given to mum Jean Drummond in the short time she was with you. We were impressed from our initial meeting with Phil who took the time with us even though he had finished work for the day. The call from Jean (Clinical Manager) on Saturday to explain the transfer process and right through the next week was appreciated. The respect and dignity all staff gave mum and the thoughtfulness and consideration shown to us while we sat with her could not be faulted. To all the nurses, carers, cleaners and cooks you are all wonderful, thank you.
