Duart is known for its warm and friendly environment, and for being a place where both residents and their families feel at home.

We’re less than 1km from Havelock North village, making it easy for friends and family to come and visit, and with a huge variety of fantastic cafes, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a place to catch up. Many of Hawkes Bay’s top wineries are close by, and it’s just a short drive to Te Mata Peak, from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the region.

Duart offers the following levels of care:

- Rest Home
- Hospital
- Respite
- Palliative/End of Life

Your room is your own private space, so you can decorate it with your favourite pictures and ornaments. Standard rooms are large enough for a single bed, a chair and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The cost of a standard room is included in the Care Services Fee set by the DHB. Premium rooms have additional features such as more space, an ensuite bathroom or outdoor access, but you’ll need to pay an extra amount per day to cover the cost of these premium features.

We pride ourselves on excellent clinical care, going above and beyond for our residents and their families. Our experienced staff, with 24 hour Registered Nursing Care, take pride in caring for both our residents and their loved ones. Many of Duart's staff have worked in aged care for over 20 years, so there is a core group of very experienced staff at this facility. Our residents are family and we are honoured to be able to work in their home.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings…there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to want second helpings! Our menu has been designed by an award winning chef and is both delicious and nutritious.

Hop in our van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you next. A scenic drive through the countryside, shopping trips or picnics in the park, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re into, enjoy some me-time listening to your own personalised playlist with our award-winning I Love Music programme.

Duart is able to help or provide contact with:

- Age Concern
- Alzheimer's Society
- Arthritis Society
- Blind Foundation
- Parkinson's Society
- The RSA.
