Local shops, parks and public transport are a short walk away in the heart of Papatoetoe while open plan social spaces keep residents active and engaged and quiet spots offer secluded private time.

Quality care, compassion and a strong connection to the community is at the heart of CHT Healthcare Trust. For over 55 years we have been taking great care of older people in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. Each of our properties provides a sense of home for residents, seamless transition across levels of care and support for families.

St Christopher's Care Home is a modern care facility operated by cht.

We offer 26 single bedrooms and 1 twin-share room all, with en-suite facilities.
We have 20 single bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities; These rooms have their own small vanity area and all have a sunny garden outlook.

Residents enjoy a single dining area and three different size lounges for reading, socialising or for joining one or more of the many activities designed to engage and motivate.

We encourage residents to bring personal items to make their space feel more like home. We have peaceful, well-kept gardens and grounds and residents benefit from this beautiful setting.

We hold frequent concerts and enjoy and arrange social and recreational activities including regular outings. We also have an onsite hair salon. Delicious and nutritious meals are freshly prepared onsite each day. Special dietary needs are taken care of.

Residents may choose to retain their own doctors with some conditions applied. We do have contracted, skilled General Practice service on-hand to provide the best care possible and a high standard of service at all times.

We look forward to caring for your needs and providing you with the best. Your satisfaction is important to us and we work hard to maintain a high quality service at all times. We welcome any ideas that will help us improve this service.

As part of our Activity programme we have Art, Bingo, Cards,Bowls, Classical Music, Cooking, Craft, Dancing, Entertainment, Exercises, Flower arranging, Happy Hour, Games, Movies, Music, Newspaper reading, Organ, Outings, and Sing-a-longs.


We also have Advocates who visit to assist residents with any issues they may have and have regular contact with
Age Concern, Blind Foundation, Maori Women's Welfare, and the Parkinson's Society.

Residents are able to enjoy breakfast in bed if they wish and we have email facilities available which we will assist resident's to use to keep contact with friends and family.

Also on site we have a BBQ for the warmer weather, Big print books, Picnic facilities and Sky TV.

We also have regular visits from church and childrens groups and enjoy making a special effort for holiday celebrations such as Christmas and Easter.

A minibus is available for weekly outings. Shopping trips are also enjoyed by the residents.

We also have lovely gardens which residents are welcome to help with at anytime.

Staffing qualifications and details We have a full compliment of skilled and professional staff. All of our team members receive training relevant to aged care. Our registered nurses attend conferences/seminars/workshops at least yearly and also provide coaching to our care staff . cht Provides a comprehensive online training programme as well as sponsoring additional training. This includes sponsoring Bachelor of Nursing training. We are a teaching facility so there are also students at various times undertaking HCA or RN Competency courses.
Details about meals Delicious and nutritious meals are freshly prepared onsite each day. Special dietary needs are taken care of.
Visitor information There are no restrictions. Our only requirement is that visitors please sign in at reception.
Internet access Free WIFI is available. Each room has a smart TV. If resident has a netflix account or other similar app - they will be able to set this up in their bedroom. Sky TV must be contracted by the resident .
