Activities Co-ordinator Yes The activities coordinator is on site 5 days per week and runs an interesting and varied activity programme that encourages residents to maintain links and contacts they have in the community as well as extending these.
Hairdresser Yes The hairdresser visits 1 day a week and pampers residents in our on-site salon. Residents are free to choose their own hairdresser at any time at their own cost.
Podiatrist Yes The podiatrist visits on a six weekly basis.
Dietitian Yes Our menus are prepared with a dietitican's input. We are also able to access dietitians for individual advice through the Waitemata District Health Board.
Accredited Visitors Negotiable We have many volunteers who come to visit our residents from the local Hospice and the RSA to name a few organisations.

As part of our organised Activity programme our residents are able to participate in the following activities: , Art, Bingo , Board games, Bowls, Cards, enjoy Classical Music, Concerts in the community, Craft, various Entertainers, Exercises including Tai Chi, Games, Gardening if they wish, Housie, Indoor Games, Movies, Music, Reading, Sing-a-longs and Videos.

A weekly outing on a Thursday is also organised in the minivan and this usually involves afternoon tea out and about at various locations.

Staffing qualifications and details While we have some long serving staff we have recently acquired a new manager, registered nurse and activities coordinator providing valuable new ideas for service improvements.
Details about meals We have onsite contracted catering services who provide varied and tasty meals with a dietitician's input. Morning, afternoon tea and supper are all served with delicious home baking and it's not unusual to see the manager joining the residents for meals!
Associated Complexes We are a part of the CHT group one of nine facilties throughout the greater Auckland. CHT is one of Auckland’s leading providers of residential care for older people. We have a proud history of innovative facility design and service delivery. With nearly 50 years experience we have the knowledge and capability to run rest homes and hospitals you can trust. As a completely independent Charitable Trust we can focus on meeting the needs of our residents. As we have no other demands on our funds, we reinvest all of our surpluses back into our facilities and our services.

Shops 1.00 Km Highbury shopping mall is close by and many of our residents walk here. The mall has a wide variety of shops and services including supermarkets, doctors, chemists, banks and post office.
Mall 5.00 Km Glenfield Shopping Mall and Northcote Shopping Mall are both approximately 5kms away - just a short drive.
Parks 0.00 Km We are situated on the boundary of Leroys Bush Reserve which has a walkway. In Highbury, 1km away there are also playing fields and a public swimming pool.
Library 1.00 Km Birkenhead Public Library is a short drive away. Library books can also be delivered to the rest home on request.
