We have disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience. Find out more here: I want to read reviews of rest homes

Located at the gateway to the Kauaeranga valley, The Booms Care Home is an ideal care home for providing all levels of care. Beautiful English country gardens and the local race course are our backdrop for the kind-hearted care we give.

We pride ourselves on the “feel” of our care home. Families of our residents describe it as warm, friendly, happy and above all, relaxed. We make sure we are aware of each resident’s personal preferences and values, cultural traditions, family situations and lifestyle, respecting each person’s individuality.
Our chef epitomises these personal touches, with individualised birthday cakes and lots of other delicious food.

We make the effort to understand each person’s likes and dislikes, and we build our care around those, letting their preferences shape their day. That’s why we say, ‘Your day - your way.’

During the 18 months of mothers stay with you, I only ever saw from you and all your staff, the most sincere and affectionate care given, even though at times mother due to increasing pain may have been difficult or even trial some. To see staff attend to her throughout the course of the day was one thing, but to see the warmth and feeling displayed by staff before and after their shift is quite another. The observance of touching, holding hands, bending over to talk in her ear, to cry over and with her, was indeed touching. Additionally you and staff were never too preoccupied to give us attention when we needed to discuss matters related to my mother with you. Staff attendance to us was outstanding and I cannot speak highly enough to others of the over all experience we had.
