Brightwater Home is relaxed, friendly, and full of life. Residents enjoy the engaging atmosphere and companionship of others at a similar stage of life. Situated in Terrace End, Palmerston North, Brightwater Home is set among attractive grounds with courtyards, established trees, and beautiful gardens.

Brightwater Home offers hospital level care for older people with high clinical needs, complex medical conditions and/or those who need support to do simple daily tasks.

At Enliven, we create age-friendly communities where people are happy and thrive regardless of their age or ability. As well as providing day-to-day support and clinical care, we take into account the physical, social, emotional, and cultural needs of each person we support.

Our elder-directed philosophy means we put residents at the heart of everything we do. When you or your loved one moves into an Enliven home, you’re joining a unique and special community. This means we work to ensure the elders of Brightwater Home have companionship, variety and spontaneity, fun, meaningful activity, and purpose in their lives. It ensures that elders are involved in decisions that relate to both their personal wellbeing and what happens at their home.

Our staff are not only highly trained, they’re also friendly, caring and embrace our elder-directed philosophy of care. Our nurses are on-duty 24-hours-a-day and the doctor also visits regularly. We are in regular contact with residents to ensure all clinical needs are met.

As an Enliven home, we’re proud to be more than just ‘family friendly’. At Brightwater Home, your family is part of our family, which means you’ll find there are no set visiting times. After all, family, friends, and the community play a big part in life here.

Dietitian Yes Our menu is reviewed on a regular basis by a dietitian to ensure it meets the health needs of the older person. She is also involved in special diets and tube feeding if required.
Kaumatua No We do not have an on-site Kaumatua but staff will assist you if you wish with this.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes Weekly interdenominational services for residents are held in our onsite chapel. The chapel is always available for services or residents or family quiet time. Communion is offered regularly. All faiths are always welcome.

May Bring Own Furniture Yes The rooms can be furnished, but residents are invited to make the space their own. You can bring along your own familiar furniture and furnishings. Many residents bring along photos, artwork, ornaments, furniture and bed covers.
Single Rooms Yes All our bedrooms are single with built in furniture, adjustable heaters, electric hospital beds, comfortable chairs and hand basins.

A highlight for many residents is the social life and companionship at Brightwater Home. As well as enjoying the company of others at a similar stage of life, Brightwater Home residents get involved in organising daily happenings and special events – making the most of the varied social calendar.

We have a wide range of interest groups. Regular activities and events include sight-seeing trips, guest entertainers, craft, themed parties and gardening.

Activity and interest groups and programmes are tailored to the interests of residents. What's included in your fees and what's not As is normal policy the fees do not cover extras which include clothing, toiletries, personal items (lollies, smokes), hairdressing, insurance for hearing aids, jewellery or glasses. Talk to us to find out more.
Staffing qualifications and details Brightwater is staffed by those people who wish to provide the best possible quality care for the older population who can no longer remain in their own homes.
Details about meals Each day we provide our residents their breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks. We’ll make sure you always have plenty of delicious food to enjoy. Our menus are co-designed by a dietician and chef to ensure there is plenty of diversity and that your meals are nutritious and satisfying, made right on-site. We encourage you to enjoy your meals in the dining room with your friends. Morning and afternoon tea is served around the home and snacks and fruit are always available in the dining room or kitchenettes.

Mall 3.30 Km The Plaza Mall is 6 min by car and 37 min to walk.
Parks 0.90 Km Memorial Park is 2 min away by car and 11 min if walking.
Library 3.40 Km Palmerston North Public Library is down town but the Mobile Library Bus stops on Limbrick Street on a Wednesday afternoon. Books can also be collected and delivered directly to Brightwater.
