Albany House Rest Home has sunny, individual rooms with garden views. We provide a quality, homely environment in which the resident is the centre of our care. We also provide an atmosphere of respect and friendliness and do this by following our 5 core foundations: Person centered care, fun, caring, companionship and leadership. We are happy to give you a tour of the home at any time. Dietitian Yes We access the expertise of a dietitian regarding special diets, who advises on food quality/portions. She regularly audits our menus, keeping them current and relevant to our residents' dietary needs, in consultation with our trained catering staff.

Respite Yes All short-term stay guests are offered sunny, individual rooms with garden views. We are a boutique, villa-style family home and take pride in our relaxed environment, where everybody is treated as family and all needs are met.

The home is a spacious, well-presented character building with modern facilities.
Our residents enjoy a comfortable, family-oriented environment with great care from dedicated staff. We also have lots of fun and celebrate special events at every opportunity...Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, royal babies, and Anzac are just a few. Our home cooking and baking is highly regarded and much enjoyed by residents, families and visitors. There is a TV lounge for Sky TV and a large screen in our main lounge for movies, DVDs and games. The gardens around the home are easily accessible (flowers and vegetables), and the courtyards are popular on sunny days.

Our activity programme is extensive and varied. Music, bowls, housie, and board games are popular. Quizzes and word games are also popular. Active participation is encouraged, and we recognize that some people often have quiet time to read, rest, or contemplate.
We have a Library with large print books, and the Librarian visits two weekly.
We have entertainers from the community who provide music and story telling.
Childrens groups frequently attend to sing to our residents.
Local clothing stores provide style days so that clothing can be purchased al Albany House.
All festive holidays are treated as special occasions and birthdays are a big event with flowers and cream sponge on the big day.

Staffing qualifications and details Albany House maintain a high-staffing ratio. Registered Nurses are on every shift and are supported by experienced caregivers and an Enrolled Nurse. All staff work together to provide a high standard of care. All staff receive on-going training through an In-Service Education Programme and Careerforce programmes.

Shops 1.10 Km We enjoy the services of our department store (H&J's) and the smaller boutique-style shops, which offer a wide range of goods for all ages and styles.
Mall 1.10 Km The town is compact and easily accessible, with wide streets and pavements and plenty of safe crossings. The café scene is well represented: it's a great way to socialise with friends or family. The restaurants are excellent, easy to access, and have delicious menus!
Parks 0.50 Km The Gore Botanical Gardens are on the way to town and well worth a brief detour to check out all the fabulous plantings and colours. The rhododendrons are beautiful in season.
Library 1.20 Km The Gore library is fantastic, with a huge range of large print books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs. The librarians bring books to Albany House and collect them, which is an excellent service for bookworms who are not as mobile but still need their reading Fix!
