Testimonials
Thank you for all the wonderful support I’ve received from DW while I supported my mum through her journey of dementia. Anon April 2022 You have been a light in our firmament, a knowledgeable, skillful and kind guide and companion for us in the Support Group as we find our way along what is often a sad path. You had the right word of encouragement or advice at the right time. You gave us room to find some things to laugh about and you gave us the space to grieve when we needed it. JB Sep 2021 |

Service Description
We offer a range of services tailored to the specific needs of each family affected by dementia. Our Navigating Dementia information sessions are 90 minutes long and are the first point of entry to our services. The session includes an overview of what is and isn't dementia, what to do if you're concerned about changes in memory or thinking, ideas for living well with dementia and the support, services and resources available. Our Living Well With Dementia programme encourages people with dementia to remain active and involved in their communities, through identifying what activities each client enjoys and determining the support needed to keep (or start) doing those activities. We also support the family of a person with dementia, particularly the main care partner, who takes on an often increasingly difficult role in caring for a family member with dementia. We offer tailored advice, education, support groups, and access to other services including respite care. |
