At The Natural Funeral Company, honouring the environment along with those we are laying to rest is part of what we do.
We provide a range of natural funeral services in Auckland and the surrounding areas, from simple cremation to private family farewells – and more formal community-based funerals. Choosing a suitable venue is an important part of the process of farewelling your loved one. While traditionally, a service may have happened at a church, there are now any number of places that are accepted as funeral venues.
You may choose the church your family is affiliated with; you could opt for a hall, a crematorium, a private home— or anywhere else that offers a venue hire service that doesn’t exclude funerals. Some people prefer to have a service outdoors at a garden or a beach, and it really comes down to what has been requested or what feels most appropriate to your circumstances.
At Natural Funerals, we have a beautiful old brick church in Auckland where you can hold funeral services, and we have a wide range of additional services which can be included on the day that can be specifically designed to suit your unique needs.
When you choose our Arohanui Room as your venue, you can bring religious or cultural items along, and we can comfortably accommodate around 50 guests. This room is also perfect for more intimate gatherings. We can take care of all your needs at our place, or we can help you organise everything you need for a service elsewhere. We can provide a livestream link for those that cannot attend.

The Natural Funeral Company has been assisting families in the wider Auckland area for 20 years now.
We began after hearing people say they would like a cardboard coffin and would like not to be embalmed. Not much has changed over the years apart from a wider choice of eco coffins, and although we do embalm at times, we have lots of experience with our unique care of a person’s body.
Our premises has a calm ambience (it’s been an old church) created to feel like home with lots of candles, flowers and plants.
And we understand the importance of guiding with sensitivity and support through the many choices and decisions that need to be made

| OUR OFFERING: When planning a funeral, there are many options to consider. We understand the significance of the small details and take every opportunity to assist you in providing the best possible farewell service for your loved one. Alongside our natural preparation processes, we offer an elegant range of ecologically sound products to meet your unique requirements. We use essential oils for bathing and ice to preserve the body ahead of the service, alongside a specially created cream to nourish and massage. Our coffins/caskets are all made of natural/ecological materials and include a wide range of options, including cardboard caskets, plywood, solid pine, woven wool and basketweave. BODY CARE: We offer a range of ecological body care practices to meet your unique requirements. Rather than embalming, we use essential oils for bathing and ice to preserve the body, alongside a specially created cream to nourish and massage. You could choose to have us come to your home and care for the body, or we can assist you in taking care of this yourself. SERVICE OPTIONS: The Natural Funeral Company has a beautiful old brick church here in Auckland where you could choose to hold services, and we have a wide range of service options available to suit your needs. With over 20 years as a funeral directors in Auckland, we have a calling to assist and support people at the time of death. As a company, we understand the importance of good service and offer guidance in a way designed to create a meaningful experience. Or you could opt for our canape and platter options, and we can also organise tea, coffee and juice. *Our caterers can bring classic white tablecloths, supply fresh flowers for your tables, serve sweets on tiered cake plates, and you can choose to have waiting staff to serve your guests. *Everything is optional and we can also accommodate special requests. |
