Radius Glaisdale Information Pack 2018 |
|
A lot can be said through our hands — a welcome, a goodbye, a friendly embrace, a playful gesture, a sign of affection, or just the delivery of a cup of tea. At Radius Glaisdale, we offer more than just an extra set of hands; we strive to enhance your life at every stage.
Located in the serene Flagstaff neighbourhood of Hamilton, Glaisdale is a place you can truly call home. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and beautiful gardens, our dedicated care team is ready to welcome and embrace you as a valued member of our community.
Our care home is designed to provide spacious living areas filled with natural light, creating a comfortable and nurturing environment. At Radius Glaisdale, we foster a friendly atmosphere that feels like a second family, making it easy for couples and friends with different care needs to stay connected.
CARE
Glaisdale was independently audited in March 2024 and proudly holds a four-year certification from the Ministry of Health. This audit evaluated our adherence to health and disability standards in collaboration with Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora—Waikato. The rigorous process included a comprehensive review of policies, procedures, resident and staff files, observations, and interviews with residents, families, management, and staff. Glaisdale was recognized for two continuous improvements, achieving a certification period that reflects the gold standard in aged care in New Zealand.
STAYING CONNECTED
At Glaisdale, we understand the importance of staying connected. We offer personal free Wi-Fi for residents to connect with loved ones, access news, shop online, and stream movies or TV shows. We also provide free elder-friendly phones with oversized buttons, covering all mobile and toll calls. Residents can bring their existing phone numbers when they move in, ensuring seamless communication with family and friends.
OUR FOOD
Our kitchen prepares fresh, nutritious meals that are both tasty and inviting. We offer three main meals daily, with two options for dinner, plus snacks throughout the day and a cup of tea always ready to be poured. The menu operates on a four-week cycle, crafted with our residents' needs in mind and approved by a dietician. Our most popular dishes include fish and chips on Fridays and roast lamb, pork, and beef. We also accommodate special dietary requirements to ensure everyone enjoys their meals.
ACTIVITIES
Glaisdale features an extensive activity program designed to promote self-esteem and personal fulfillment. Our aim is to stimulate cognitive functioning, nurture our residents, and provide meaningful activities that lead to enriched lives filled with fun, laughter, and joy. This creates rewarding experiences for everyone involved.
