Testimonials
"You have created a truly impressive facility for our elderly. Harbour View has a real feel of joy within its walls. This is not the usual experience we have had thus far in this environment, as I'm sure you can appreciate, so we are very grateful to have found you. My brother and I feel so much better knowing that Mum is in a place that is right for her needs, and is being cared for by staff who treat residents as human beings first and foremost and their condition second. I don't think I can adequately put into words the peace of mind I now have after our visit, especially as I'm not able to visit Mum as often as I would like". " It is with sadness that we write this letter. The sadness is in leaving our family will then be missing out on the loving and caring provided by you all in Oamaru. The standard of care provided is second to none. This can do attitude showed in every staff member that it was our good fortune to encounter. They certainly have the skill and knowledge to handle every situation. So saying this.love and understanding comes into force as it takes a special type of person to undertake this profession. D is a special person in our lives and we all wanted the very best for her coming to terms with this ailment. She found that at Harbour View". |

Special Features
Harbour View is an owner-operated service. The building itself was formerly owned by the Waitaki District Health Board and went into private ownership in 1990. In 2003 and 2017 it was extensively refurbished. The wide entry foyer leads into two wings with bedrooms leading off it. A newer wing leads out to the front of the building. The dining room, kitchen and main offices are in the centre of the complex. Furnishings and decoration are homely towards heritage in style and this gives Harbour View the feeling of a gracious home of years gone by. The grounds are spacious and well maintained with the central rose garden being a real picture during the rose growing season. A driveway circling the rose garden allows for easy and safe loading and unloading of vehicles. Harbour View has one of the best views in the region. The comings and goings in the harbour can be easily observed as we are not too far away from the action. We are bounded by King George Park to the west which allows our residents to have supervised outside walks without the concern of heavy traffic. |
