Adriel holds "Spark of life Centre of Excellence" and the only facility in New Zealand to have this honor. We have two small homely Dementia care Rest Homes on the outskirts of the small North Canterbury town of Amberley. Our aim is to provide quality specialized Dementia care, in a relaxed, caring, friendly, country, home-like environment. Our vision is to provide individual care to people with dementia, supporting their strengths and enabling them to be as independent as possible for as long as possible

Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes We call caregivers - Supportive Partners. We feel that we are there to support the residents to be as independent as possible for as long as possible. All have training in Care of the Elderly, Dementia and "Spark of Life". We have a Team Leader for each home.

Adriel is a family owned and operated business that consists of two small homes in a rural setting surrounded by large lawns and garden's with outdoor seating areas, potting shed, vegetable garden, animals and orchard. The Owner/Registered Nurse Mischeal is a "Spark of Life" Master Practitioner, and the homes philosophy follows the "Spark of Life" concept, which aims to provide psychosocial care that is personalised for each and every resident. With this in mind the staff are there to support residents with activities of daily living and give them time and encouragement to do this. Adriel has retained its "Spark of Life Centre of Excellence" for 5 consecutive years and is the only facility in New Zealand to have this honor. We pride ourselves on cooking homely meals with vegetables and fruit from the garden and meat from local farms. We provide beautifully decorated cakes and cupcakes for birthdays and special occasions.

We also provide Meal's Mon, Wed, and Fri and delivered locally to those still living in their homes.

Staffing qualifications and details 1 Registered Nurse/Owner, Full time and on call after hours & weekends. 1 Supportive Partner completing Nursing training in July 1 Supportive Partner completed her first year of Nursing training 4 x trained Diversional Therapists. Activities 7 days per week. All supportive partners are trained or training in Dementia Care, Spark of Life and all senior staff have First Aid training Some Supportive Partners have completed Level 2, 3 & 4 Health and Wellness Certificates and others are in various stages of working towards this qualification.
Details about meals Home cooked hot meal at lunch time with dessert, Sunday Roast. Light meal in the evening, breakfast between 7am - 10am in the dining room. Home baking for morning/afternoon tea and supper.
