Service Description
We offer a comfortable caring environment for adults who are looking for additional support to stay in their own homes. The Daybreak concept of providing support to adults and their caregivers is innovative in that we are the only privately owned facility offering a day program in the Rotorua region. OUR CARE Our experienced staff are on hand to assist all our guests with a variety of personal care. If you need additional support, such as the administering of medications, please consult with our manager. We have a strong holistic focus and start each day with a gentle exercise routine. Our meals are planned to be nutritious and varied. All dietary requirements are catered for. A range of stimulating activities are available daily and change to suit the needs of our guests. WHAT HAPPENS IN A TYPICAL DAY? Our van drivers pick up our guests each morning and transport them to the facility. You will usually find that about 30-40 people attend each day. We commence the day with balance and chair exercises and then provide a homemade morning tea. There are a range of organised activities that people may choose to participate in such as board games, cards, group games, or Art. Alternatively there are always others that enjoy a good chat. We also have craft available and its popularity depends on the group of people who are attending at the time. A full cooked lunch is provided to all guests, including dessert. All meals are home cooked by our own cook and are nutritious and varied. Dietary requirements are catered for. In the afternoon, entertainers and visiting speakers often visit and we have regular visits from a local Kapa Haka group. Guests may choose to resume their previous activities or engage in something new. Afternoon tea is provided and includes home baking. Guests are then transported home. GETTING TO KNOW YOU We know that you will probably feel apprehensive about coming to meet us. For this reason we like to arrange to come out and meet you first in your own home. We also extend an invitation to spend the day with us, free of charge, if you are considering commencing daycare and are unsure if this will suit you. It is quite possible that you will meet someone you know. We invite you to come and have some wonderful days with us. Inspections are invited and bookings are essential. |
