Our stunning care suites are opening soon and taking enquiries.

Pohutukawa Landing Care Home offers rest home, hospital and secure dementia care in beautiful luxury care suites.

The care home is part of the existing village, just a few minutes' walk to Pine Harbour ferry terminal and marina.

The building is oriented around internal and external courtyards, providing landscaped outdoor amenities to residents.

Supporting the care suites are a range of resident amenity spaces such as café and restaurant dining, lounges on both levels and a library on the upper level. These spaces provide for residents’ differing preferences and needs.

The care building has been designed to a 6 Star Green Star rating to provide a sustainable and healthy environment for residents. This is the third care building in the Metlifecare portfolio set to the Green Star certification at the end of 2024.

The care at Metlifecare is deeply personal and always personalised. We support every resident to live a fulfilling life in a safe and welcoming setting that feels like home where you can continue doing the things you love.

We take time to get to know you, so we can better support and care for you.

Our beautifully designed care suites are available under an Occupational Right Agreement (ORA). Care suites offer a private ensuite bathroom, kitchenette with bar fridge and tea-making facilities, giving you the freedom to make your cup of tea, just the way you like it.

Your friends and family will always be welcome to spend time with you. They can join in for meals and celebrations, as well as pop in for a cup of tea and chat.

With the comfort and security of 24/7 excellent clinical care and an activity calendar with a great variety from social activities to dining experiences and hobbies, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to connect with like-minded souls who share your passions.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
