Our spacious care rooms and care suites, each with an ensuite bathroom are fitted with a call bell with 24/7 monitoring for added security.
Of all the large providers in New Zealand (with 15 villages or more), Ryman has the highest number of care centres with 4 years’ certification – the ‘gold standard’ in care – from the Ministry of Health.
Ryman exceeds the sector standard in aged care by continuing to enhance the resident experience.
Our award-winning myRyman Care app and electronic medication system provide our team with secure access to real-time clinical data for accurate and efficient care.
Meals are prepared fresh on site by our village chefs using seasonal ingredients. Our Delicious menu is continually highlighted as an area where we go above and beyond as our talented chefs aim to tempt all taste buds.
We're passionate about creating thriving communities where connection and wellbeing are a priority. We offer daily activities and outings for residents to choose, and we encourage you to make the most of the care centre amenities.
We’re recognised by Canstar Blue for having the Most Satisfied Customers, which highlights the outstanding lifestyle and amenities on offer at a Ryman village and complements our tenth win of Reader’s Digest’s Most Trusted Brand.
When people visit our care centres, they often tell us that they feel that difference. It’s in the way our residents and care teams interact, their genuine affinity and connection with one another. We’re a community that cares.
It’s something to be experienced so we invite you to visit and talk to our team. Better still, talk to our residents and their families – they’re the experts!

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
