Heretaunga is a small close-knit community set amongst sunny gardens. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Silverstream shops, it’s easy to pop down to local cafes and eateries with friends and family, or pick up items from the supermarket.

Our Care Suites at Heretaunga mean you get the best of both worlds. You can receive 24 hour Rest Home or Hospital level care all in the comfort of your own spacious suite, complete with full bathroom. A lounge area with kitchenette means it’s easy to make a cuppa and entertain visitors.

Hop in the village van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you. Or if it’s music you’re in to, enjoy your own personalised playlist with I Love Music. Furry friends, exercise groups, Happy Hour and theme days, there’s something for everyone no matter what you’re interested in.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings… there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home.

Oceania is a leading provider of premium healthcare services in New Zealand. With over 40 locations across the country, we’ve been part of local communities for over 50 years. We’re recognised as industry leaders in care, winning awards for innovation, food, staff training and community engagement.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
