Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
Situated in one of Christchurch’s most vibrant and exciting suburbs, Addington Gardens caters for Rest Home and Hospital level care and offers a range of premium rooms including Care Suites.

We're conveniently located on Lincoln Road, making it easy for friends and family to visit, and with the cafes and restaurants of Addington Village on your doorstep, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a place to catch up. Barrington Mall is less than a five-minute drive, in case you need to grab the essentials, and for those interested in sports and entertainment, the Horncastle Arena, Orangetheory Stadium (previously the AMI) and Addington Raceway are also close by.

Care Suites provide both Rest Home and Hospital level care, which means you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase. All Care Suites have a heat pump and full ensuite, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces.

Addington Gardens is known in the community for being a ‘home away from home’, with its warm, welcoming feel, and spacious rooms and lounges. There’s always something exciting going on in the main lounges for those who enjoy socialising, as well as plenty of peaceful, cosy nooks where you can relax with a good book.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings…there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to want second helpings! Oceania has Australasia's first and only certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition as we are committed to ensuring our residents are getting the best possible nutrition from each and every meal.

Hop in our van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you next. A scenic drive through the countryside, shopping trips or picnics in the park, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re into, enjoy some me-time listening to your own personalised playlist with our award-winning I Love Music programme.

Oceania is a leading provider of premium healthcare services in New Zealand. With over 40 locations across the country, we’ve been part of local communities for over 50 years. We’re recognised as industry leaders in care, winning awards for innovation, food, staff training and community engagement.

When it comes to your care, you know what you do and don’t like – and we want to know your preferences too. Because everyone is different, all of our residents receive a personalised care plan, so from meals to medications; everything that’s important to you is covered.

Testimonial:

"The people at Addington are very caring and accommodating. Mum and Dad were both there with different needs, one of my parents required dementia care, and both ended up needing hospital care. It was so good to have them together under the one roof and they could visit each other very easily." - Family member

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
